Alex Brownstein, J.D., M.A., General Counsel and VP, Public Relations
Alex Brownstein has 18 years of experience in the bioscience industry as a business strategist, lawyer, and award-winning public relations executive. He is co-founder of the Business Incubation Association of NY State and Chair of the NY State Bar Association's Committee on Medical Research and Biotechnology.
Prior to joining Intidyn, Alex was Director of Global Business Development and Strategic Initiatives for the University at Albany's Center for Functional Genomics and managed the University's biotech business incubator. Alex was previously a Vice President at two of the world's 'top 5' public relations firms, Edelman (New York City, Chicago) and Ketchum (San Francisco), where he created and implemented corporate and marketing communications campaigns for dozens of biopharmaceutical / life sciences ventures or products, most notably Genentech's $1 billion bio-oncology portfolio (Herceptin, Rituxan, and Avastin). Other past clients include IBM Life Sciences, Merck, Pfizer, Aventis, Novartis, Wyeth, Medtronic, Roche, J&J, Schering-Plough, and Eli Lily. Alex received a B.A. from the University of Vermont, a Master's in Bioethics from the City University of New York Graduate Center, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver School of Law.
